Increased Cargo Activity Expected At Kenyan Airports

Business Resumes At Eldoret Airport
The first International passenger plane landed at the Eldoret International on 19th July arriving from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The DC9 aircraft belonging to African Express Airways had 50 passengers on board. Since the resumption of services at the airport, demand for the facility has increased as businessmen prefer it due to its efficiency and minimum delay in clearance of cargo.
World Bank Supports KAA's Development Plans
The World Bank's financial support to the Kenya Government under the 'Northern Corridor Development Project' saw Kenya Airports Authority benefit from the development agreements, which were signed in June 2004 between the World Bank Country Director Mr. Makhtar Diop and the Kenyan Finance Minister.
Investment Opportunities At Kenyan Airports
The Kenyan government through the Ministry of Planning & National Development hosted an international investment conference in Nairobi in March Last year . The conference dubbed 'Kenya 2004' had a special focus on the productive sectors of infrastructure, private - public partnerships and identifying investment opportunities in Kenya. Jomo Kenyatta international Airport has moved a step closer to complete global presence by providing Wireless Internet services to its customers. JKIA has become the second international airport in Africa to launch wi-fi services in Africa.
